Using Illustrations on Wedding Stationery

This is something that we have seen fleetingly over the years at Kaizen Weddings, but it is going to become a mainstay in 2019. Couples of deciding to include illustrations on their wedding stationery, mainly of themselves, instead of your traditional patterns or plain stationery sets. Using these illustrations help to make everything that little bit more personal. As well as this however, it will make your wedding invites and other bits of stationery stand out that little bit more from all of the rest, making them truly unique to you.

Honeymoon & Destination Inspired

Keeping in the same kind of vein as the illustrations previously, another trend that we are going to see quite a lot of this year, is having destination wedding or honeymoon inspired wedding stationery. Destination weddings are becoming more and more popular, especially in Ireland where couples want the sun instead of the rain! But besides this, couples are choosing to theme their wedding stationery around either where they are having their weddings or where they are going on honeymoon. This will often be of illustrated map drawings of whatever destination they have picked. This often means that their wedding invitations give off a rustic or vintage look. As well as this however, some couples of foregoing the use of illustrations and getting attendees to use their other sense such as touch and smell, by including scents or flowers from their destination with their wedding stationery, such as their invites. For a destination wedding, this is a great idea as it helps to put those attending in almost a holiday mood, even before they go.

Eco-friendly and sustainable stationery

Over the past year, especially since the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan, couples across the country have been trying to make their weddings more eco-friendly. One way that they are doing this is through the use of eco-friendly and sustainable materials in their wedding stationery, and it is something we are going to see a lot more of in 2019. Couples are starting to use more and more recycled materials to have their stationery made and even using non-traditional resources such as wood.

Dark Coloured stationery

In contrast with what we have seen over previous years, we will see wedding stationery take on a darker tone in 2019. However, this in no way means that it is going to be gloomy! No in fact it is quite the opposite, as the dark colours are being paired with lighter text colours, to make the stationery both formal and modern. The use of these colours help to keep the stationery looking sleek, but also eye-catching, really helping to make them stand out.
