Leaflet Printing

Leaflet Printing: Do’s and Dont’s

While leaflet printing can seem like a fairly simple task, for anyone who has ever tried to do this in practice it can quickly become a more and more daunting task the more you think about it and the more you start getting into the swing of the planning and production. But this needn’t be the case.

So long as you have a clear plan of what you want to achieve with your leaflets and you have a sound understanding of what you want to say and who it is intended for, these are the key ingredients to ensuring that you end up with a really effective and attractive looking leaflet.

Here’s our do’s and don’t when it comes to leaflet printing

Do…

Give yourself time

As with any business you are required to juggle numerous different activities all of the time. Leaflets may not be top of your priority list. However, by giving yourself that extra little bit of time to decide exactly what you want to achieve with your leaflet and how you would like it to look, you’ll really reap the rewards when it comes to the final print.

Be selective

This goes back to really understanding what it is that you are trying to achieve with your leaflet printing. You’ll want to ensure that you know exactly what message you are trying to get across to your audience and why. This way you can determine which content can make the cut and which can be left out.

Have a means of contact

Now this sounds obvious, but it does happen. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the content and the messaging behind the content that we can miss very basic and important details like a telephone number to find out more.

Have a clear call to action

As with any leaflet, the main objective is to get your audience to take an action of one kind or another. Ensuring that you have a clear call to action will help you maximise the return that you can expect from your leaflets. Just ensure that you leave enough space and breathing room to include your call to actions. If your leaflet is overcrowded you are likely to lose the impact.

Be creative

There’s plenty of scope to be a bit creative with your leaflets. Whether it is with the design or with the content matter, there are lots of ways you can really grab the attention of your audience, and give your leaflets the wow factor.

Opt for a professional job

Print quality is everything when it comes to your leaflets, so you’ll want to make sure that you go with a printer you can trust. At Kaizen Print we’ve helped hundreds of happy customers with their leaflet design and print projects.

Don’t

Proof your leaflets yourself

Before you send your leaflet design to print, you’ll want to make sure that you have had at least one other person look over it. It can be very easy to miss integral details, typos and any number of possible mistakes when you are proofing a leaflet design all by yourself. Naturally you will be looking out for particular problems with the design and can often miss some quite glaring errors.

Cram info into your leaflets

Your leaflets are not there to tell your customers absolutely everything about your business. They are there to give a glimpse of a particular offer or service you can provide them with. Similarly, you might have narrowed the product or service down, but you’ll still want to make sure that you don’t get bogged down in the details of that product or service. Give a brief description of what you have to offer and say just enough to peak your audience’s interest.

Botch the print job

The last thing you’ll want once you have gone through all the effort of coming up with an idea, designing your leaflet exactly as you would like it, proofing it and then sending it to print is to find that the print job has let you down. By going with a printers that you know you can trust to do a great job, you’ll end up saving yourself a lot of time and money.
