How to Design Print Ready A0 Posters

Posters are a great option for inspiring and capturing your customers’ attention. Therefore, they must be created in such a way that will help pull in your customer and leave them wanting more.

To design the perfect poster, there are a few things you will need to do in order to make it a success. Of course, posters sometimes go wrong, but when they do go right, they can be extremely effective and imprint a lasting picture of your brand in your customer’s minds forever.

In this article, we take a look at how to design print ready posters in AO size.

Work in CMYK Colouring

If you are creating your own designs at home or office, to then have them printed professionally, you should aim to work within the CMYK colour scheme. This is because it will provide you with a more accurate representation of how your poster will print. If you are using programs like Photoshop, there is a CMYK setting which you can switch to, and automatically see how things will look.

Use Vectors

During the design stage, you should aim to work in a vector-based program, for example, Adobe Illustrator. This will ensure that when it comes to printing, your design won’t blur and will be as crisp as possible when printed. This is especially important when it comes to printing larger scale prints as they are the ones most likely to blur. Programs like Adobe Illustrator are also favoured as they reduce your file size, making it easier to deal with.

Work at 300DPI

Often times, your printing job can be delayed if the resolution is too low. To avoid this happening, when you send your documents to the final printer, you should set them to 300 DPI also known as dots-per-inch. The more dots included in the image, the higher resolution you’ll have, and therefore a higher-quality print.

Choose Your Paper

Once you have your files ready to go, it’s time to choose your paper. The paper choice can be arranged with the printer shop, and a very popular example to go for posters is matt coated paper. Then you will need to determine your print size. For the sake of this article, we are looking at A0 size, which is a larger poster size, and so you should make sure your printer is able to handle such sizes.

Select Your Poster Printing Shop

You will want to choose a company that is reputable in printing, so you can guarantee a quality end product. Looking to get your posters printed in A0 size? Here at Kaizen Print, we offer Large poster printing services – perfect for all your requirements. We offer generous quantities from 1 – 15 pieces, and using a stunning Matt coated paper.

Save as a PDF

Before you even send your documents to be printed, it is recommended to save them in a PDF format as this will ensure everything is printed and not cut out as a PDF loads everything neatly in one page.
