The Myths about Print Marketing

Within the print industry, especially over the past few years with the rise in popularity in digital media and digital marketing, a few myths have begun to arise. However, within this article we are going to take a look at some of the major ones and let you know that this is all they are; just myths.

Outdated

The first myth that we have come across is that print and print marketing have both become outdated. The idea that it’s now taking a back seat to all things digital seems to be a slightly popular one. However this couldn’t be further from the truth. What some people don’t seem to realise, is that print has come a long way. There is a lot more to it now than just putting some ink on some paper. For a start it isn’t just paper, as we can print on vinyl, foamex, pvc and even magnetic signage. But it is within this that there are also a lot more options for customers to choose from. From the different stocks you have the option of depending on which product you are getting printed, to the different finishing types that are available to you!

Ineffective

Over the past few years print and print marketing have been written off. They’ve been called old fashioned and ineffective in the digital world. However again, this is far from the truth. According to the International Communications Research 73% of consumers said they much preferred to receive printed mail and marketing material than that of email and digital material. But one major advantage print has is the fact that it is all about you. You are the one who has designed it up and had the marketing material printed, so no one else is going to be sharing it with you. This goes for any type of print marketing material you might decide to use, from PVC Banners to Foamex Boards. Compare this to the digital marketing forms that we are able to use, and when a customer is online there they have a plethora of information that can distract them from your brand, products or services.

Limited Options

This is so untrue that honestly it made us chuckle a good bit. The whole building was in fits of laughter. Here at Kaizen Print we have 50+ different types of print material for you to choose from! If that isn’t options then we don’t know what is! In fact, this myth can probably be turned on its head and it is in fact the digital media that has the limited amount of options.

However it isn’t just with the actual printing options, as print also has a lot more than you can do with these, in terms of creativity for design and the placement of the print where your customers are going to be able to view it. This is especially true when you start getting into the likes of foamex and stickers, as they can be cut to whatever shape you want, meaning the only limit will be your own imagination.

All Printers are the same

This is a very common misconception that customers tend to have, especially as there are now so many online only printers. But absolutely no two printers will ever be alike, as everyone has their own techniques for doing things, as well as the equipment and technology that they use for the jobs. You will want to find a printer who you like and then stick with them. It is vitally important to begin building a working relationship with your printer, instead of just sending them the jobs you need and there being very little communication between you and them. You will want them to want to work with you, and be happy when a new job comes through from you. As well as this, a good printer will be able to answer any questions that you might have, as well as tips and suggestions that might be useful to you current job or your next one. When dealing with a printer, it is important that you speak to human beings, and not just someone online. An online only printer won’t understand as much, or be able to communicate in the same way, often meaning more headaches when it comes to print jobs. So in that regard, no printer is the same as the next one and never will be.
