You see them in charity presentations or when a large donation is being made.  Little is known of the star of these pressers.  However, the presentation cheque is a powerful marketing tool.  Large presentation cheques are a fantastic tool.  Large presentation cheques are a fantastic tool for both charity and private organisations.  They help promote fundraising activities to a huge audience outside each of their respective organisations.  They are suitable to create an eye-catching PR photo opportunity.  In addition, this photo opportunity can be shared across all platforms.  Share the results across all your digital marketing channels.  However, you can also distribute the results to the local press and trade publications.  Let’s look at some of the reasons the presentation cheque is so vital.

What Is a Presentation Cheque?

A presentation cheque goes by many names.  Jumbo Cheque, Mega Cheque or Novelty Cheque are some iterations.  Ultimately, they are the same product.

There is no one on this planet that would engage in fundraising activities just for a PR stunt.  However, you should not make any apologies for using this activity to further promote your company’s goodwill activities.  For many organisations, the cheque is the conclusion of fundraising.  This is culminated with the handing over a presentation cheque to your chosen charity or organisation.

Presentation Cheque Design & Templates

The design of the presentation cheque follows a template.  Much like our own personal cheques only scaled much larger for size.  At Kaizen Print, we offer free use of our many design templates.  Our templates include all major UK and Irish banks.  In addition, they include a number of charities past customers have given donations to.  However, we also have an unbranded version.  Therefore, you can add your company logo free of charge!

During the order process you can add your logo to the artwork upload page.  In addition you can add your text or number values to the Notes box.  However, if you miss this step during the order process, the team at Kaizen will be in touch to request these from you once your order is placed.

Print Ready Artwork for Your Presentation Cheque

You are not bound to our many templates.  You may choose to submit your own presentation cheque artwork.  However, if you do go this route be sure to follow these guidelines to ensure your artwork is print ready.

Bleed

Ensure that all artwork for your cheque is supplied with a 3mm bleed on each side.

Colour Profile

Please ensure that all elements within your design have been imported as CYMK assets.  CYMK refers to the four ink plates used in colour printing.  These would be cyan, yellow, magenta and black.  In addition, when creating your project, please ensure CYMK is select in the colour profile settings.

File Type

As standard, a high quality PDF is requested for all projects.  Standard setting on this are fine from most vector-based design software programmes.  However, ensure you have selected bleed to be included in the outputted PDF.

High Resolution Images

It is rare to use imagery beyond your company logo for a presentation cheque.  However, your project and cheque are very likely to be photographed and featured in external media.  Therefore, you want your logo to be as sharp as possible.  In other words, please ensure you use only high resolution images at 300 dpi.

Don’t worry if any of the above is outside of your skill-set or knowledge.  We have a dedicated team at Kaizen Print who will walk you through the process.

How to Make a Good Presentation Cheque

There is very little that can go wrong with the design of your presentation cheque.  However, the printer may have an effect.  Ensure you go with a reputable printer so your cheque shows fabulously.

However, there is one thing to keep in mind.  If you are going to go with handwriting on your cheque, make it legible.  Always get someone with good handwriting to write the details!  You want to ensure everyone can read about your valiant efforts!

How to Use Your Presentation Cheque

Using a large presentation cheque in a PR photo creates a great visual impact.  In addition, your cheque allows the photographer a focal point.  In addition, you have a product that can be used along the press release for distribution.  Any free exposure is positive from a charity’s perspective.  For fundraisers, the cheque offers you a great opportunity from a social media perspective.
