When to send a Christmas card

The holiday period is a time of great happiness and joy, intended to be spent with the family relaxing and over indulging but it doesn’t always pan out like that the holiday period can also be a time of great stress, running about last minute to get presents, buying the turkey and post all your Christmas cards before the deadline. Well at least here at kaizen we can help with that last part, here are the deadlines for shipping using Royal Mail this Christmas.

 

Posting to the UK

It’s recommended if you send 2nd class parcels and letters on or before the 20th of December and 21st December for first class parcels and letters.

 

Posting to Europe

Posting to close countries including France, Ireland, Belgium and Luxembourg it is recommended you send your parcels and letters on or before the 16th of December to ensure it arrives on time. To Austria, Denmark, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and Switzerland it is recommended you send on the 15th. The 14th is the recomended date for Finland and Sweden. (the 14th is also the recommended date for Canada and America). To post to the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland and Italy it is suggested that you post on or before the 13th of December and for Greece and Turkey it is suggested that you send your post before the 9th of December. For the rest of eastern europe it is suggested that you send before the 6th of December, this is the same last posting date for Cyprus and Malta.

 

Rest of the world

Make sure if you are posting to further abroad you leave yourself enough time to ensure your post gets there in a timely manner, posting to the US and Canada both require you to post before the 14th of December, and to post to Australia and New Zealand you should post before the 9th of December. Central and south America alongside the caribbean require your post to be sent for the 7th of December whereas Asia and the far east countries require your postage to be sent before the 6th of December and for Africa and the middle east you should send your post before the 2nd of December to ensure it arrives in time.  

 

All these postage dates relate to sending post via Royal mail 1st Class, 2nd Class and international standard. If you are sending you post via outside couriers such as Parcelforce, or Royal Mail economy make sure you call into your local post office and always make sure you leave yourself enough time. Dates may also change closer to Christmas.
