No one likes to be sold to. Even advertising as a medium has lost a significant effect, where people choose to ignore it with a passion. The main example here is Sky+. When an advert comes on, you fast forward. Even when you are working with a customer for a long period, they still don’t want to feel like they are being sold to. It will turn them off and make closing the sale much harder. Listen to your customers and build relationships not sales. Sales will follow naturally.
